Casa Mariquit is one of the old houses that caught my attention because when I sometimes passes by in front of that place and it always makes me curious of what's inside of that old house.
So now I got to have a chance to showcase to you what's inside the Casa Mariquit and its history.
The house is overshaddowed by a old banyan tree locally known as lunok, believed to be home of the spirits. But this is a nice place to hang out, enjoy and Explore.
The house is a two storey ancestral home privately owned by the Lopez and Javellana. Once you enter Casa Mariquit you will feel that you're going back in the past.
Casa Mariquit was built in 1803 by Ramon Javellana then it became the home of his grand daughter , Mariquit Which the house was named after, and her husband Fernando Lopez .
The Caretaker really maintaned the house, and it still contains its original furniture and the photographs hanging on its walls. The caretaker also serves as your tour guide.
